Going out to grab a couple of drinks with some good friends isn’t that bad. However, losing count of the shots you’re taking might not always be a good idea.

Well, there’s only one surefire way to prevent hangover from taking place and that is to stop drinking. However, I know there are days wherein we would be needing to grab some drinks not because it’s nice to relax too, but there are special occasions that we should surely celebrate.

1. Up your water intake
As mentioned above, it is necessary to drink a lot of water in between shots. But if by chance you still wake up feeling groggy in the morning, then by increasing your water intake would surely help. Water will help flush out the impurities in your body as it will help make you feel better afterward.
You may also try drinking other fluids since you will be needing drinks that can restore electrolytes in your body. Remember that you will have to replace the salt and potassium that you’ve lost while drinking that’s why you need to drink a lot of fluids.
2. Consume some sugar
Some studies suggest that one can also prevent a hangover by consuming some decent amount of sugar while drinking can keep you from experiencing hangover in the morning. This is because fructose is said to speed up alcohol metabolism.
3. Eat a good breakfast
There are foods that can help flush out impurities from the alcohol you’ve consumed. This is because eating a decent amount of good food can also help restore the lost electrolytes in the body.
You may also consider eating some greasy foods just before drinking. Just remember that if you are trying to fill up your stomach in the morning, go for the foods that are easy to digest.
4. Consider ginger
For years already, experts believed that nibble ginger at the end of a night of drinking could help prevent a hangover. Some studies also claim that ginger has been used traditionally as a remedy to reduce nausea and vomiting.
5. Get back to sleep
Lack of sleep doesn’t contribute to a hangover. However, lack of sleep can surely make the hangover worse. Since it is already given that hangover needs an amount of time before it goes away, why not at least rest and get back to bed first? Aside from it making the hangover disappear, sleeping will also make you feel a lot better.
